In this preview of her forthcoming book, Mary Habeck explores the underpinnings of Al Qaeda’s grand strategy, and what it may portend for the future. An Associate Professor of Strategic Studies at Johns Hopkins, she served on the National Security Council and taught at Yale University, where she received her Ph.D. Previous lecturers in this series include Jonathan Sacks, the Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth; George Weigel, biographer of Pope John Paul II; James Billington, Librarian of Congress; and Lorenzo Vidino, a scholar with the Swiss-based Center for Security Studies (and FPRI Senior Fellow).
