The winners of this 59th edition were announced last night during the Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony held in the Salle des Princes at the Grimaldi Forum.

TV presenter Julie Taton hosted the ceremony in the presence of a star-studded gathering of celebrities and VIP’s.

Then it was time for Golden Nymphs to be awarded to the winning programmes, actors, screenwriters and directors:

IN THE LONG FICTION PROGRAMME CATEGORY:

• The Golden Nymph for Best Long Fiction Programme was awarded to the series Escape At Dannemora, broadcast on SHOWTIME.
• The Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actress was won by Patricia Arquette for her role in Escape at Dannemora.
• The Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actor went to Grégory Montel for his role in Thirst For Life.

IN THE NEWS CATEGORY:

• The Golden Nymph for Best Documentary was won by Dollar Heroes – North Korea’s Secret Slaves produced by A & O Buero Filmproduktion, Moonlight Films and The Why Foundation.
• The Jury prize went to Crackdown: The «Rule Of Law» In China , produced by NHK.
• The Golden Nymph for Best TV News Item was awarded to Khashoggi Body Double, a CNN production.
• The Golden Nymph for Best Live Breaking News was given to Good Morning Britain, an ITV Studios and Daytime production.

IN THE COMEDY TV SERIES CATEGORY:

• The Golden Nymph for Best Comedy TV Series was awarded to On The Spectrum, broadcast on Yes TV and produced by Sumayoko Ltd.
• The Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actress was won by Naomi Levov for her role in On The Spectrum.
• The Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actor went to Niv Majar for his role in On The Spectrum.

IN THE DRAMA TV SERIES CATEGORY:

• The Golden Nymph for Best Drama TV Series went to My Brilliant Friend, produced by A Wildside, Fandango, Umedia Production For RAI and HBO.
• The Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actress was awarded to Vicky Krieps for her role in German and Czech series Das Boot.
• The Golden Nymph for Outstanding Actor was won by Richard Madden for his role in British series Bodyguard.

FOR THE INTERNATIONAL TV AUDIENCE AWARDS:

• The Golden Nymph for Best Drama TV Series was awarded to American series The Good Doctor, a 3AD & ABC Studios production.
• The Golden Nymph for Best Crime TV Series went to Lethal Weapon, produced by Lin Pictures, Good Session Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
• The Golden Nymph for Best Telenovelas – Soap Operas was awarded to From Your Heart To Mine, produced by Shashi Sumeet Production.

IN THE SPECIAL PRIZES CATEGORY:

• The Prince Rainier III Special Prize went to the documentary Drowning In Plastic, a Raw TV production.
• The AMADE Prize was won by Yemen: Kids and War, produced by VATIM, HOOPOE FILMS and France Télévisions France.
• The International Committee of the Red Cross Prize was also won by Yemen: Kids and War, produced by VATIM, HOOPOE FILMS and France Télévisions France.
• The SIGNIS Prize went to War, produced by Schiwago Film for WDR & ARD.
• The Monaco Red Cross prize was awarded to Care, produced by LA Productions Ltd.
• The PeaceJam Prize went to The Price of Free, a Participant Media And Concordia Studio production.

The evening finished with the announcement of the winner of this year’s Crystal Nymph. This prestigious prize is awarded to a television actor or actress whose acting career has made an outstanding contribution to the television world, and who is widely popular with audiences, press and the industry in general. H.S.H Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco was delighted to present this year’s Crystal Nymph to well-known American actor and producer Michael Douglas.

Thus ended this 59th Monte-Carlo TV Festival, in an evening filled with excitement and emotion. A fitting end to an event that always endeavours to stay true to the ideals of peace, ecology, and love!
