Anders Åslund@anders_aslund-In effect, Trump has acknowledged that he has lost HIS war against Iran: 1. He says he is considering “winding down” his war against Iran. 2. Claiming that the American military is “getting very close” to meeting its objectives (=the opposite). 3. He does not want a ceasefire between the US, Israel and Iran (because he cannot get it). 4. The US has stopped sanctions against Iranian oil stranded at sea (=acknowledgement of US failure). 5. Trump asks others to open the Strait of Hormuz (= he has failed). Conclusion: Total Trump failure. Stop this nonsense asap!
Michael McFaul@McFaul-He wants to break down the liberal international order. He wants to break apart NATO. He wants to go back to a world of spheres of influence. I’m talking, of course, about Vladimir Putin.
