Kamala Harris Will Win, According to Historian Who Predicted 9 of Last 10 Presidential Elections

I spoke with American University Professor Allan Lichtman who has a near-perfect 40-year track record for predicting the winner of the presidential election. He explained how patterns in the political environment can accurately predict the election much better than polls, why you cannot predict elections by what’s happening in swing states, why it’s governing not campaigning that counts, and tells us his 13 true-or-false questions that he says hold the “keys” to the White House.

Gaza After Sinwar, Biden’s Farewell Tour, Canada-India Conflict

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, architect of the October 7 attack, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza earlier this week. How will Hamas respond, and how will this affect the war and its eventual end? Then, President Joe Biden is expected to visit Germany this week and Angola later this year (his first visit to Africa as president). In what are seen as farewell trips, President Biden will discuss conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and alliances and partnerships with President João Lourenço. Plus, what are Canada and India feuding over? Ravi Agrawal, Steven Erlanger, and Carla Anne Robbins join World Review with Ivo Daalder to analyze these issues.

After the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, President Joe Biden has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to «make this moment an opportunity to seek a path to peace.» As the images of Sinwar’s death are seen across the region, many are watching to see how his death might influence the course of the Israel/Hamas war. Israel shows no sign of changing tack, despite references to «the beginning of the day after Hamas.» To discuss what Sinwar’s death might mean for the hostages and the Palestinians still suffering in Gaza — and what Hamas might do next — longtime hostage negotiator Gershon Baskin joins the show.

Eli Lake joins the podcast as we debate just how meaningful the killing of Yahya Sinwar by IDF troops is—is it a major turning point, a climactic event, one of the most important days of the 21st century, or something else? And what about the Biden administration’s response to it? Give a listen.
