The drafting of the Paris climate agreement in 2015 marked a pivotal turning point in the fight against climate change when almost all of the world’s governments committed themselves to limiting temperature rises to ‘well below 2°C’. As the impacts of climate change became more obvious, the agreement represented a collective recognition that this global problem required a global solution.
