White House Daily Briefing (C–Span) Aug 2, 2018
National security and intelligence officials, including Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, joined Press Secretary Sarah Sanders for today’s White House briefing. They talked about the efforts of their respective departments and agencies in addressing ongoing malign influence campaigns conducted by Russia against American democratic principles and elections. Director Coats also said the intelligence community was aware of other countries with similar influence capabilities, and that those countries were being monitored for potential activities. Sarah Sanders closed the briefing by taking questions on other topics, including President Trump’s correspondence with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the president’s references to the press as “the enemy of the people.”
